Adult Auditions
Thank you for your interest in auditioning for our next production. We are dedicated to creating a show of professional quality with local talent, and we can’t wait to see your unique abilities on full display. This musical is filled with an incredible cast of characters, from lovable family members to an eccentric inventor and outrageous reporters. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or a rising star, there are some truly awesome roles to explore and make your own!
The Characters
The cast features a fantastic mix of roles for all ages. The main family roles include the eccentric Willy Wonka, the loving Mrs Bucket, the big-hearted Grandpa Joe, and the rest of the fantastic grandparents, Grandma Georgina, Grandma Josephine, and Grandpa George. We are also looking for the delightfully flawed parents of the golden ticket winners: the anxious Mrs Teavee, the competitive Mr (or) Mrs Beauregard, the smothering Mrs Gloop, and the indulgent Mr Salt.
The cast is rounded out by the flamboyant reporters Jerry Jubilee and Cherry Sundae, the hilarious Mrs Green, and a lively ensemble of townsfolk, Oompa Loompas, and evil squirrels!
Audition Requirements & Materials
To be eligible to audition, you must be at least 18 years of age. For your first-round audition, we want to give you the best opportunity to showcase your skills and personality.
- Singing: Please prepare two contrasting musical theatre songs of your choice. Each should be no more than 3 minutes in length and be in the style of the show. We may not have time to hear both, so please be ready to sing either, and have a shorter section of your second song in mind.
- Acting: There is no script to prepare for the first round. Instead, we’d love for you to tell us a joke in the style of the role you’re interested in. This is a great chance to show off your personality and sense of humour!

Our commitment to an inclusive cast
Our stage is for everyone. We want our productions to reflect the diverse people in our communities, so we especially welcome performers from the Global Majority, as well as trans and non-binary artists. Talent doesn’t come in one shape, age, or style, so we’re excited to see applications from people of all generations and from those who are neurodiverse. What matters most to us is creating a cast that feels authentic, welcoming, and inclusive in our mission to produce professional quality theatre with the local talent here in Cambridge and surrounding areas.
