Dialogue
Welcome to the dialogue Audition details!
Below is a table of parts with some details and pages for the audition.
For those going for a particular part, please make yourself familiar with the pages below but you don’t need to learn them. In particular, the pages listed for Bonnie and Clyde won’t be done in full, we will ask you to do sections.
For those not going for any particular part, please choose any pages listed below, including those listed for named parts. There are also pages listed for female and male parts that you can chose from but don’t feel you limited to those.
We just want to hear the best from you so choose a part that you feel you can deliver well.
Character |
Clyde Barrow |
Bonnie Parker |
Buck Barrow |
Blanche Barrow |

Emma Parker |
Preacher |
Various female parts Governor Eleanore Cumie, Clyde’s mother |
Various male parts Cop Judge Bud |
We will be using Southern US accents but don’t worry about those for the audition. Have a go if you feel able but don’t, if you feel it will hold you back. If you don’t want to use an accent for the audition, it would be useful if you could prepare one line with a Southern accent just so we can see that you can do it with some practice.
A very short clip about the accent can be found here – https://www.tiktok.com/@litelinguistics/video/7078817827691728174?lang=en
That’s it! Don’t stress about this. You will get do to the dialogue at least twice so just come and give it your best. We want you to do well.
Vocal
As a creative team, we want to see what you can bring to the show as a whole, not just a specific character. For this reason, we’ve decided to not audition with songs from the show.
Below is a table of songs to choose from, which mirror styles, emotions and vocal ranges from the show. Please pick whichever cut you like – regardless of gender, age or preferred character. If your chosen song was not originally written for your voice type, feel free to jump up or down an octave, but please note, as you’ll be singing live with the piano, we’re unable to change the key itself.
We’ve provided the links below for you to listen to the songs as we want to hear the musicality and acting through song more than anything, especially if you’re hoping for a lead part – rather than you being able to follow sheet music. See how you can translate a specific character through your singing, even though we aren’t singing songs from the show.
You will sing your chosen cut more than once, so be ready to be redirected and give it your all!
